General Information for getting Finland Visa in Beijing China

 

General Visa Information

In Guangzhou, the Consulate General of Denmark is representing Finland in Schengen visas. Residents of the following provinces may apply for a visa in Guangzhou: Guangdong, Guanxi, Fujian, Hainan. Applications for resident permits to Finland must be submitted to the Embassy of Finland in Beijing.

In Chongqing,  please contact the Consulate General of Hungary for applying for a Schengen visa to Finland. Residents of the following provinces may apply for a visa at the Hungarian Consulate: Chongqing, Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou. Nationals of the following countries are required to be in possession of an Airport Transit Visa (Visa type A) when passing through the international transit area of airports situated in the Schengen area: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sri Lanka.

Visa Fee

  • Applicants shall pay a visa fee of EUR 60. 
  • Children from the age of six years and below the age of 12 years shall pay a visa fee of EUR 35. 
  • Nationals from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM),
  • Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Albania and the Republic of Moldova shall pay a visa fee of  EUR 35. 
  • The visa fee must be paid in local currency. 

Visa Process

Visa applications of holders of Diplomatic, Service and Public Affairs passports should be submitted via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/FAO. Holders of ordinary passports are required to apply in person.

Visa fees are to be paid in RMB when submitting the application. 

No additional fees will be required. The fee will not be returned in case of refusal of visa. Application forms and all other information material as well as arrangements for an appointment are free of charge.

Applications shall be decided within 15 calendar days. The period may be extended up to maximum of 30 calendar days in individual cases or exceptionally up to maximum of 60 calendar days in specific cases.

Enquiries concerning the processing status of a visa application cannot be answered. The applicant will be informed as soon as the process is through. Information concerning a visa application can only be disclosed to the applicant himself/herself.

In case the visa is refused, the applicant receives the decision in writing. He/she has the right to make a rectification request and will receive with the decision also instructions for making the request.

FAQs

CAN I APPLY FOR A SCHENGEN VISA IN CHINA? 

Chinese nationals and third-country nationals who are legally present in China. 

Third-country nationals legally present but not residing in China, if the applicant provides justification for lodging the application in China.

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT FOR SUBMITTING MY APPLICATION?

Applicants may be required to obtain an appointment for the lodging of an application.

DO I HAVE TO GO THROUGH AN INTERVIEW AT THE CONSULATE? 

Please note that during the examination of an application the consulate may call the applicant for an interview. 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE CONSULATE TO DECIDE ON MY APPLICATION? 

Applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days of the date of the lodging of an application which is admissible. 

That period may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed. 

Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.
