FAQ on Chinese Driving License

Q: Can I use driver license of my own country in Beijing?
A: According to the Road Traffic Safety Law, foreigners must hold a PRC vehicle drivers license if they drive vehicles in Chinese territory.

Q: How long does it take to have a license from you?
A: Around 10-20 working days as usual. But the processing time is different in some special time, such as China Olympic games, China spring festivals...etc. Please contact us for the details.

Q: Do I need to sit for a written test?
A: Yes, a computer test/ exam is required

Q: Do I need to take the road test?
A: No, there is no road test is required, as long as you have a valid foreign driver's license.

Q: Can I apply it with L, F,X,Z visa?
A: Yes, you can apply it with any type of visa.

Q: Can I go to your office to give you the documents?
A: Yes, you certainly can. You can come to our office to give all the documents and the deposit to us.

Q: Can I get a receipt if i have sent the deposit?
A: Yes, you certainly can.We will sent you a receipt when the deposit is confirmed.

Q: How can i get my Chinese name? If i do not have it at all,can you help me?
A: It is ok with any kinds of the Chinese name. You can make it by yourself, or alternatively we can help you to translate yours.

Q: Is this license legal? How Can i check it ?
A: Yes, it is legal. It is issued by Chinese Public Security Bureau (Traffic Authority), you can check your driver license records in the traffic police department of any city in mainland China, you can use it to drive in any city in China.

Q: What class is the license?
A: The license is "C1" class. You can drive either automatic or manual transmission cars below 9 seats.

Q: How long does this license valid for?
A: It is valid for 6 years, afterward you can just simply renew it without any test.

Q: Can I drive anywhere in China?
A: Yes, you can use the license to driver anywhere in mainland China, and you can also change the driver license address to any new city in China where you move to,but sometimes it is up to the department rules of the city that you move to.

Q: If I am 59 years old, Can I get the license?
A: Yes, if you can get it if you have valid documents.

Q:If I am 70 years old, Can I get the license?
A: No, you can not apply it. The age requirement is from 18 to 69 years old.

Q: Can I still use your service if I have not live in Beijing city, such as Shanghai city, Shenzhen city, Dongguan city...etc.?
A: No, Our services are available in Beijing. But our Chinese Driving/Driver's License Textbook is available anywhere in China.

Q: Can you help if I have an expired driver license from my country?
A: Sorry, we can't help you out.

Q: How long the Chinese Driving License is valid for?
A: It's valid for 6 years.

Q: How long the RENEWED Chinese Driving License is valid for?
A: It's valid for 10 years, if you don't have 12-point problem in your First 6 years.
