The National People’s Congress Standing Committee have voted through (30.06.2012) the first-ever immigration law - The People's Republic of China Exit and Entry Administration Law - which among other things, tighten visa restrictions by halving the minimum stay for foreigners working in China.
- The law raise the overstay fine from 5,000 yuan to 10,000 yuan.
- The law fines of 5000 Yuan (up to 100,000 yuan about HKD12,2000/USD15,740) for companies that employ foreigners illegally.
- The law fines of 5000 Yuan (up to 100,000 yuan about HKD12,2000/USD15,740) for companies that introduce foreigners to work illegally.
- The law defines the term of illegal employment: Working without Alien Employment Permit and Residence Permit; Working beyond the permission of Alien Employment Permit; and working wth students visa.
